Peer Review Policy
In order to ensure the high standards of scholarly material published in Slavica Gandensia, we have a policy of Peer Review. All manuscripts submitted to the Editorial Board are peer reviewed according to a procedure of double blind review, in which both the referee and the author remain anonymous throughout the reviewing process.
Manuscripts submitted for publication are passed on to two referees, who are experts in the designated field of interest. Slavica Gandensia boasts a Reading Committee of international experts. The Editorial Board may occasionally make an appeal to ad hoc referees whose their specific expertise might be required. Manuscripts are evaluated according to scholarly relevance, methodological rigour, originality, consistency of argumentation and reference to previous relevant publications. Referees may provide minor comments and recommendations or they may request a thorough revision of a manuscript. They are not expected to correct or edit manuscripts.
Authors will be informed about acceptance or refusal within four months after the receipt of their manuscript. Referee reports will be added in case of refusal or if revision of a manuscript is recommended. Our referees have advisory powers but the final decision for acceptance rests with the Editorial Board.
We welcome suggestions for referees, though not all recommendations will be heeded.
